Katie is a New Jersey Licensed Social Worker, providing counseling services to young people and their families under supervision. She earned her Master’s of Social Work from Rutgers University and her Bachelor’s of Art from University of Massachusetts Lowell. Katie is passionate about working with high school students, college students, and young adults who are navigating life transitions while gaining a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them. For many young people, there are various ‘pressures’ to show up in the world in certain ways. While young people are navigating the world, they are often bombarded with messaging from their family, peers, community, and social media telling them who they should be. When working with young people, Katie joins them on their journey to becoming their most authentic self with an emphasis on self-compassion, self–acceptance, and gentle curiosity.

Katie has experience in providing counseling in areas of anxiety, depression/mood disorders, low self-esteem, trauma/PTSD, self-harm, and LGBTQIA+ issues. She has a warm and understanding approach that helps people navigate the feelings of shame and isolation that can be associated with these struggles. Katie recognizes that being a young person can come with its fair share of difficulties in relationships, and supports people in understanding what a healthy relationship is and how to actively create and participate in healthy relationships.

Katie emphasizes self-care, boundaries, and mindfulness as ways to reconnect with the self and bring the attention back to existing in the present, as is. Katie works with young people and their families to process through difficult emotions and behaviors, and tailors her approaches to the needs of each client and family. Katie’s easy going and nonjudgmental nature creates a space where individuals can explore their innermost thoughts and feelings in order to heal and understand themselves better. Katie believes that the lens in which you view yourself is powerful, and overcoming the negative labels is an important part of healing. If you consider yourself a ‘perfectionist’, ‘controlling’, ‘not good enough’, Katie will help to unpack those internal battles. She strongly believes in the healing power of relationships, and connects with clients in ways that allow for deep personal exploration, insight, and growth.

Katie is a South Jersey native, who resides with her two spoiled dogs. In her spare time, Katie can be found training her dogs, playing Animal Crossing, listening to True Crime podcasts, and spending quality time with friends and family.”
