Kristen is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of New Jersey. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wilmington University, as well as her Bachelor’s of Science. Kristen is level 1 trained in Internal Family Systems, a certified Safe and Sound Protocol provider, and has trained in mindfulness-based strategies. She helps adults and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, low self esteem, relationship issues and grief.

In today’s society we have a lot of “to dos” between taking care of our families, households, jobs, and more. Women that have the incredible gift of caregiving are often depleted by the needs of others, toxic relationships, and people pleasing tendencies. We sacrifice ourselves and our own needs to what seems like the greater good of others. This can result in burn-out, anxiety, stress, resentment, and depression.

Kristen helps her clients find ways to “be” instead of “do”. This process sheds the additional tightness of anxiety and stress that we tend to carry around with us in our minds and in our bodies. Through somatic mindfulness techniques, Kristen will guide you on your path to being more present and connected to yourself. By cultivating an attitude of self-compassion and acceptance, we can continue to care for others while also tending to ourselves in the process.

Through a trauma-informed and attachment-focused lens, Kristen understands the impact of our early life experiences on how we show up in the world and with ourselves in the here and now. Kristen supports her clients in getting to know themselves at a deeper level, guiding them towards a healthy and loving relationship with themselves. By helping people find that space inside where healing can happen, Kristen teaches her clients how to embody their lives with a sense of calm, playfulness, curiosity and clarity.

“Our bodies know that they belong; it is our minds that make our lives so homeless.”

– John O’Donohue

Kristen’s therapy style is warm, inviting, and compassionate. She considers it one of her greatest honors to be able to support someone in their journey through life and in making positive changes that cultivate more contentment and happiness. She helps individuals empower themselves and have a secure sense of who they are. She helps individuals empower themselves and have a secure sense of who they are.

With a holistic person-centered approach to counseling, Kristen helps clients recover from painful life experiences that impacted their sense of self. She works with each client to identify their individual strengths, develop self-compassion, as well as employing body-based interventions that help clients connect to themselves more fully. Kristen brings her education in polyvagal theory and other trauma-focused therapies into her counseling sessions, with a keen understanding of the impact of trauma and early attachment wounds on the nervous system.

Kristen resides with her husband and 2 daughters. When she isn’t working with her clients you can find her teaching and taking a yoga class, working out, going for walks or hikes, spending time with her family and friends and when there is snow, skiing in the mountains!

*Please be advised that at this time, Kristen is not accepting new clients as her schedule is currently full. Here at Mindful Soul, our therapists take pride in their work and would not like to spread themselves too thin and want to ensure the best level of care is offered to all clients.
