Nicole is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor who brings nearly a decade of experience supporting individuals navigating addiction, trauma, and identity work. Prior to joining Mindful Soul, Nicole spent years working in a women’s intensive outpatient program, where she facilitated groups and provided individual therapy for women, nonbinary, and trans clients living with PTSD, substance use struggles, and a range of mental health challenges.

Nicole’s work is grounded in authenticity, empowerment, and deep respect for the human experience. Her approach combines Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing to help clients understand the “why” beneath their patterns and build practical tools for change. Nicole also brings a deep love for interpersonal effectiveness skills, often referencing the “DEAR MAN” technique and the “Dime Game” to support clients in boundary setting and assertive communication.

She especially enjoys working with LGBTQIA+ clients, individuals exploring gender identity or dysphoria, neurodivergent clients, and moms who feel overwhelmed, burned out, or stretched beyond their limits. Nicole has a deep understanding of what it feels like to carry the invisible weight of caregiving, perfectionism, and emotional labor, often while trying to meet everyone else’s needs and expectations. Whether it’s masking emotions, pushing through exhaustion, or constantly questioning if you are doing enough, Nicole creates space for clients to finally exhale. She helps them unmask, reconnect with their inner voice, and cultivate a more compassionate, sustainable relationship with themselves, one rooted in authenticity rather than performance.

Nicole believes the most transformative therapy happens when trust, collaboration, and a shared sense of purpose exist. She sees her role as a supportive guide, helping clients access their own inner wisdom, make connections between past and present, and move toward a more authentic, fulfilling life. She strives to normalize the mental health experience and challenge the shame that too often accompanies seeking help.

In her work with addiction, Nicole creates space to talk about recovery in a way that is nonjudgmental and deeply human. Whether someone is working through substance use, compulsive patterns, or emotional overwhelm, Nicole approaches their experience with respect, curiosity, and care.

Her clients often appreciate her nerdy metaphors, down-to-earth humor, and the way she balances deep emotional work with a grounded, practical presence. If you enjoy thoughtful conversation and honest reflection, you will be right at home with Nicole.

“The essence of trauma is disconnection from the self. And the healing is in reconnection.”

Dr. Gabor Maté

Outside of session, Nicole is usually chasing after her kids on the playground, diving into a watercolor painting, or playing Legend of Zelda. A former roller derby player and coach, she is now focused on helping her little ones find their own confidence on skates. She’s passionate about lifelong learning, blending personal growth with playful curiosity and she brings that same energy into her work with clients.
