Sometimes life asks more of us than we feel prepared to carry. Whether you’re navigating the pressures of school, adjusting to a major life transition, processing trauma, or simply trying to make sense of who you are in an ever-changing world, therapy can offer a place to slow down, feel understood, and reconnect with yourself.

Ilana believes that healing begins by understanding the whole person, not just the challenges that bring someone into therapy. She approaches counseling with warmth, curiosity, and compassion, creating a space where clients feel safe exploring their experiences while building the confidence to move toward the life they want.

Her work is grounded in a trauma-informed and attachment-based approach, helping clients strengthen their sense of identity, deepen self-understanding, and develop practical tools for navigating life’s challenges. Ilana values collaboration and believes therapy works best when clients feel empowered to help shape the direction of their own healing.

Ilana is currently completing her Master’s degree in Community and Trauma Counseling at Thomas Jefferson University. This is her second master’s degree, having previously earned a Master’s in Forensic Linguistics from Hofstra University after completing her Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics from Rutgers University–New Brunswick.

Before pursuing counseling, Ilana spent many years working within nonprofit and government organizations alongside multicultural, multilingual, and neurodivergent communities. As someone who comes from a multicultural and multilingual background herself, she brings cultural humility and an appreciation for the many ways identity, family, language, and life experiences shape each person’s story.

She has a special interest in supporting students navigating academic pressures, individuals healing from trauma, military members and their families, and people from diverse cultural backgrounds. She also enjoys incorporating mindfulness and meditation practices to help clients cultivate greater awareness, resilience, and self-compassion.
