Life can look completely manageable from the outside while feeling exhausting on the inside. Maybe you are the person who keeps pushing through, overthinking every decision, holding yourself to impossibly high standards, or ignoring what your body is telling you because there is simply too much that needs to get done. When you have spent years learning how to function, achieve, and take care of what is expected of you, slowing down can sometimes feel harder than continuing to push.
Sarah Levy, LSW, is passionate about helping teens and adults who are navigating chronic illness, neurodivergence, trauma, perfectionism, anxiety, and burnout. Many of her clients are high achievers, healthcare professionals, or people who have become very good at appearing capable while privately feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or exhausted. Sarah believes that the patterns we struggle with often developed for understandable reasons, and that lasting change begins by becoming curious about what those patterns are trying to do for us.
Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science in Global Health from Georgetown University and her Master of Social Work from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She is Level 1 trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS), which serves as the primary model for her clinical work. Sarah also has training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, childhood and chronic illness, anxiety and depressive disorders, learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and LGBTQIA+ affirming care.
“There are no bad parts.”
– Richard C. Schwartz, PhD
Sarah’s approach is experiential, insight-oriented, and deeply rooted in Internal Family Systems. IFS helps clients understand the different “parts” of themselves that may carry fear, perfectionism, self-criticism, overthinking, anger, or the need to stay constantly productive. Rather than trying to get rid of these parts, Sarah helps clients become curious about the role they play, what they may be protecting, and what they need in order to feel safer.
