Nicole Baylies is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor who works with adults navigating the emotional load of everyday life—relationship stress, caregiving roles, burnout, recovery, and long-standing patterns that no longer feel sustainable. Many people come to therapy feeling emotionally exhausted, stretched thin by responsibilities, or unsure how to take care of themselves while still showing up for others. Nicole offers a steady, grounded space to slow things down and make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface.

Nicole brings nearly a decade of clinical experience supporting adults with trauma histories, substance use concerns, and relational stress. Before joining Mindful Soul, she worked in a women’s intensive outpatient program, where she facilitated both group and individual therapy for adults navigating PTSD, addiction, and complex life circumstances. Her work is informed by a deep understanding of how stress, emotional labor, and past experiences can shape coping patterns over time.

Her approach is strengths-based and trauma-informed, drawing from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing. In practical terms, this means helping clients understand why certain patterns show up, while also building realistic skills for communication, boundaries, emotional regulation, and decision-making. Sessions are collaborative and focused on clarity, insight, and tools that can be applied in real-life situations.

Nicole commonly works with:

  • Adults navigating relationship stress, parenting demands, caregiving roles, and burnout

  • Adults processing trauma histories or long-term emotional overwhelm

  • Individuals in recovery or questioning their relationship with substances or compulsive patterns

  • LGBTQIA+ adults and neurodivergent individuals seeking supportive, affirming care

  • Adults working on boundaries, interpersonal effectiveness, and self-trust

  • Teens ages 16+ navigating emotion regulation challenges, interpersonal conflict, family dynamics, and identity-related stress

Clients often describe Nicole as calm, thoughtful, and direct in a way that feels supportive rather than overwhelming. She approaches therapy with respect and curiosity, creating space for honest reflection without pressure to perform or “have it all together.” Her style balances emotional depth with a grounded, practical focus, helping clients feel more oriented and less alone in what they’re carrying.

“The essence of trauma is disconnection from the self. And the healing is in reconnection.”

Dr. Gabor Maté

Outside of her clinical work, Nicole enjoys spending time with her kids, watercolor painting, and playing The Legend of Zelda. A former roller derby player and coach, she now cheers on her little ones as they build confidence on skates. She values lifelong learning and brings a steady, down-to-earth presence into both her work and daily life.
