Ji is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of New Jersey. She earned her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania and her Bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College. Ji helps teens, college students, and adult clients find calm in the chaos of overwhelming thoughts and feelings.
Sometimes we land in a place where we experience the unsettling sense that things are not going the way we planned. You might question if your relationship is healthy and what kind of future it holds. Perhaps a career that is moving rapidly up the ladder leaves little time for self-care and balance. Or maybe you feel stuck professionally and are wondering if this is the right path at all. Ji welcomes her clients to put words to their worries, and in doing so, invites them to bravely ask, “Who am I and what is my purpose?” In working with Ji, clients will explore where they are, how they got there, and whether the life they are living truly aligns with their values and goals.
“Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we are supposed to be and embracing who we are.”
-Brené Brown
As a parent herself, Ji also enjoys working with women and parents who are adjusting to the many transitions that parenthood presents. Wherever they are on their parenting journey, Ji works collaboratively to help her clients gain new insight and better ways to manage life’s many stressors with greater confidence and skill.
With empirically-supported therapeutic techniques including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and mindfulness-based approaches, Ji has a flexible approach that helps her clients feel more empowered and balanced. Ji believes that all clients have an inner “Wise Mind,” and through therapy, she works to help women deepen this intuition to lead healthier and more meaningful lives. She is committed to working alongside her clients as a partner in their journey toward well-being.
Ji’s clients often describe her as approachable, nonjudgmental, and compassionate. She values diversity and sees everyone as unique, adapting her therapeutic approach to best fit the individual she is sitting with. Ji is LGBTQIA affirming and welcomes any clients seeking an inclusive environment to feel safe and fully themselves.
Ji resides with her husband in South Jersey and loves to fill her life with art, delicious foods, and bullet journaling.
