Heather Jantz-Haun is a Licensed Associate Counselor passionate about helping clients understand themselves more deeply and build lives rooted in balance, resilience, and self-compassion. She earned both her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rider University. During her graduate training, she completed her clinical internship in a substance use treatment setting, supporting adults navigating recovery and the complexities of rebuilding their lives.
Heather has expanded her work to include adolescents and adults, bringing a warm, grounded, and direct presence to each session. Her clinical focus includes anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, grief, relationship challenges, and general life stressors. As an IFS and EMDR informed therapist, Heather draws from an eclectic blend of therapeutic approaches, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness practices. This allows her to help clients develop healthier patterns of thinking, strengthen emotional regulation, and build lasting inner resilience.
Heather is particularly passionate about supporting clients struggling with low self-worth or those who feel stuck in cycles of self-doubt. She also has a strong commitment to the military community, including service members, veterans, and their families, offering a steady presence for those navigating the challenges of service, transition, and reintegration into civilian life. Heather recognizes that many clients carry experiences they have never spoken aloud, and she creates a space where those stories can be explored safely, without judgment or pressure.
“Some people think that it’s holding on that makes one strong. Sometimes, it’s letting go.”
— Sylvia Robinson
Clients often describe Heather as warm, compassionate, and validating, yet straightforward when needed. She works best with individuals who appreciate honesty and can tolerate being gently called out when it serves their growth. While she brings depth, empathy, and emotional safety into the room, she also believes in the power of accountability and perspective-shifting to help clients move toward meaningful change.
Heather understands how overwhelming it can feel to confront long-standing patterns or beliefs. She meets clients exactly where they are, helping them challenge negative or intrusive thoughts, deepen self-awareness, and develop more balanced internal narratives. Her approach centers on helping clients cultivate grace for themselves, recognize their strengths, and break free from cycles that keep them feeling stuck or overwhelmed.
At the heart of her work is the belief that a strong therapeutic relationship begins with authenticity, trust, and a space where clients feel respected, heard, and valued. Heather’s goal is for each person she works with to feel empowered to show up as their full, true self, messiness and all.
Outside the therapy room, Heather enjoys spending quality time with her family and her beloved fur babies. When she’s not crafting or enjoying creative outlets, you can usually find her cheering at her daughter’s softball tournaments.
