Meredith is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of New Jersey. She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Louisville, where she specialized in Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counseling and her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee. She is experienced in working with adults experiencing substance use disorders, mood disorders, trauma, family conflict, grief, and relationship/marital issues. She has provided individual, family, and group counseling in residential and outpatient substance use and mental health settings. Meredith is LGBTQIA-affirming and prides herself on creating a safe and inclusive environment for all individuals.

Meredith has a special interest in working with couples who may be experiencing challenges in their partnership such as affair recovery and attachment trauma. Many couples may find themselves enduring the same disagreements and struggles, seemingly on an endless loop with difficulty interrupting or changing their pattern. Meredith guides her clients towards deeper insight into how their early relational experiences impact the way they show up in their adult partnerships. Through thoughtfully examining and repairing our attachment wounds, we can become more present and emotionally connected to ourselves and our loved ones.

In her work, Meredith also supports clients who may be going through a major life transition such as divorce or facing the end of a relationship. Through the therapeutic process, clients are invited to explore their own relational wiring and gain greater clarity into their relationship and partnering experiences. For many adults and couples, transitions can be planned or unexpected but are always inevitable. As you pack up your metaphorical suitcase for the next stage of your life, what do you want to take with you? What are you ready to leave behind? And most importantly, who do you want to be?

If you are in the middle of a life transition, Meredith will help you unpack difficult emotions and experiences and repack your bags with confidence, support, and healthier ways of seeing yourself, others, and their environment. For many of us, the natural transitions we experience in life are compounded by trauma, complicated family issues, anxiety, depression, substance use, or other mental health concerns. With the help of an encouraging therapist, you can lighten your load in a way that makes life feel clearer and more manageable.

“There is no normal life that is free of pain. It’s the very wrestling with our problems that can be the impetus for our growth.”  – Fred Rogers

Meredith prides herself on creating an atmosphere of safety and warmth, without shame and judgment. Her compassionate and approachable personality makes it easy for clients to open up. She encourages her clients to turn their attention inward and joins them in setting and reaching their goals. Here is where confidence and courage bloom and confusion and insecurity dissipate.

Meredith provides client-centered therapy, drawing upon several counseling models, such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), Dialectical Behavior Training (DBT), IFS strategies, Motivational Interviewing, and, Mindfulness-based practices. She also incorporates 12 Step principles wherever she can, as she has seen them work in her own life.

A DC native, and New Jersey transplant, Meredith enjoys weekends down the shore and all the food Philly has to offer. When Meredith is not working as a therapist, you can find her teaching yoga and spin classes around South Jersey, traveling with her husband, and spending time as a pet parent to a cat and senior dog, Brooke and Owen.
