Medford Office
Elly carries an LSW in New Jersey and an LMSW in New York. She graduated from New York University’s Silver School of Social Work with a Bachelor’s in Social Work and Columbia University’s School of Social Work with a Master’s in Social Work. Elly is a passionate and dedicated member of Mindful Soul’s Maternal Mental Health Team and offers counseling and groups at our Medford office in support of healthy mother and parenthood and healthy families.
Her own transition to motherhood inspired Elly to pursue specialized training in maternal mental health to work with women and families facing the challenges of perinatal and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders. She has completed Postpartum Support International’s 2-day Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders Training as well as Postpartum Stress Center’s Post-Graduate Professional Training Program.
Often women and men entering parenthood look in the mirror and realize that they need to become acquainted with the person staring back at them. Elly would be honored to walk with you through this transformational journey into parenthood and all that it entails. There is often a never-ending refrain of criticisms, expectations, and insecurities that come with becoming a parent. If you’ve ever wondered, “Is what I’m doing enough?” then therapy could be the perfect place to learn and practice self-compassion.
Elly delivers compassionate feedback free of judgment and welcomes a diverse range of clients from any background or orientation. Elly is LGBTQIA+-affirming and will work with you to identify how your personal values will shape and influence the course of your treatment.
In addition to her work in maternal mental health, Elly has a great deal of experience working with children, adolescents, and their families. She has a special interest in working with pre-teens and teens around challenges that arise from life’s major transitions. Elly takes an open but direct approach to supporting young people through challenges that they may not feel comfortable discussing with other adults in their lives.
Utilizing evidence-based practices such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness skills, and Motivational Interviewing your path toward healing can be tailored to your needs and strengths. Elly has a passion for working with individuals to identify and resolve the core conflict at the center of their distress.
Elly is delighted to have recently moved from the Hudson Valley in New York to raise her two young children closer to family. She, her husband, and her sizeable collection of house plants are excited to build a life here in South Jersey.
