Finding the Right Therapist and the “Best Fit” Investment
Picking the “right” therapist can be confusing and difficult. Many people pick a random name off a list of that their insurance gave them or scroll around websites like ours, wondering if someone can really help them. We get it – this is not the same thing as picking a podiatrist!
The majority of our clients have been given our name from a trusted family member, friend, doctor, or another medical professional. We value our clients and the trust they have in us when they refer someone that they love to Mindful Soul Center for Wellbeing!
We encourage you to consider a number of variables when starting therapy – therapy is an investment of your time, money, and energy.
Our therapists strive to provide an environment of trust, security, and openness so that you can make meaningful changes that will help you achieve a healthier sense of balance, well-being, and happiness!
Accepted Insurance Plans and Fees
Our practice accepts Aetna and Cigna insurances, along with several of their affiliated plans such as GEHA and Meritain. We are also in network with Allied Trade Assistance Program and Total Care Network. We do not participate with most Medicare plans, and we do not participate with any Medicaid plans.
Mindful Soul is a proud member of the Unite For Her provider network, an organization committed to helping women diagnosed with breast cancer or ovarian cancer navigate their way through treatment by providing complementary therapies designed to promote physical and emotional wellness.
Should you opt to pay for therapy out of pocket, our therapists’ fees range from $100-$180; fees are based on experience and specialization.
We encourage prospective clients to see what’s possible! Many of our clients also utilize their Out-of-Network benefits, which reimburses a portion of your therapy costs when you see a provider that is not in network with your plan. See below.
Using Out of Network Benefits
Did you know that some insurance plans offer out-of-network reimbursement when you see a provider that is not in network with that plan? Plans with this option allow members more choice when selecting a provider in addition to the option of working with a certain specialist when there might not be one in your geographic area.
Many medical providers are either not included or opt out of working with certain insurance carriers – this is more common in fields like psychotherapy, psychiatry, chiropractic, and nutrition.
What types of plans cover out-of-network services?
The most common plan that reimburses for out-of-network services is a PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) insurance plan. HMO or EPO plans typically will only cover in-network services.
Can I get reimbursed if my therapist at Mindful Soul is out-of-network with my insurance carrier?
Sure! Our office will typically check on our end to see if you have out-of-network benefits as part of our intake process, however we always encourage prospective clients to be knowledgeable about your health plan. Knowing your options will surely factor into your decision to seek counseling here at our practice. We totally get it – therapy needs to be both a good fit AND sustainable! We find that many people are not properly informed on what their insurance company will reimburse. It is a pleasant surprise to learn that some insurance plans will reimburse you anywhere from 50-80% of the cost of your therapy sessions.
I have out-of-network benefits! What do I do next?
The process to be reimbursed will vary by insurance carrier, so check with your plan by visiting the website or calling the member services number on the back of your card. It is usually as simple as logging in and submitting a copy of your paid invoice from Mindful Soul, otherwise known as a “Superbill.” In order for your insurance carrier to approve and reimburse you for your therapy, there are certain codes and details that must be outlined on the Superbill.
Superbill requests can be made by submitting the form below. The form can be completed as often as you would like – some clients fill it out after each session, others do it monthly or less frequently. Once submitted, your request will be processed by our office and a Superbill will be uploaded to your client portal in 72 hours.
Current clients can email billing@mindfulsoulwellbeing.com with questions related to Superbills or other billing related issues. Prospective clients are asked to bring this up during your initial consultation call with our scheduler.
