Founder & Director
EMDR Certified Therapist & EMDRIA Approved Consultant
Internal Family Systems Trained Therapist, Level 1 & 2
Michelle is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of NJ and the founder and director of Mindful Soul Center for Wellbeing, a women-centered counseling practice in South Jersey.
Women have their own unique personalities and perspectives and in the brave moment when we decide to seek out help, we look to find someone we can truly connect with and trust with our most vulnerable thoughts and feelings.
Michelle has experienced the power of connection between herself and her own clients. Through her understanding of this important relationship, she has thoughtfully hand-picked her staff so that women could find that trusted person to help them on their journey of healing, balance, and self.
Therapy with Michelle
Michelle views her role as a therapist as being a lighthouse instead of a life raft, shining light on new ideas and perspectives rather than making short-term fixes. With mindful awareness, compassion, and guidance, she believes that women can tap into their own wisdom to repair, heal, and create more meaningful lives and relationships.
Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we’ll ever do.
-Brené Brown
As a highly trained women’s trauma specialist, Michelle works with women suffering from PTSD, complex childhood trauma, dissociative disorders, anxiety, and other types of emotional conditions. Often times, we are not even aware that the issues we face in the present actually stem from past experiences that were painful and never given the chance to heal. Clients that work with Michelle discover new insights and awareness to the challenges that they face; and with that awareness comes a clearer and more compassionate path towards healing. Michelle is an EMDR Certified Therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant. She has also completed intensive training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), a therapeutic model for trauma that is rooted in the presence of Self-energy, which is essentially our own internal organic system of wisdom and healing. Michelle speaks about IFS Therapy as a featured guest on the Woman Worriers Podcast with Elizabeth Cush, LCPC, Episode 56.
Therapy for Therapists and Healers
Michelle believes that healed people heal people, and that those of us that have taken on the path of a healer also need to carve out the time and space to do our own work. She offers individual and group counseling to therapists and healers that wish to deepen their own internal relationships, expand their view of Self, and connect in more meaningful ways with themselves, their loved ones, and their clients. Michelle would be an especially ideal fit for those interested primarily in Internal Family Systems and EMDR Therapy.
EMDR Consultation Services for Therapists
The goal of EMDR consultation should not just be to clock the necessary hours required, but to gain more confidence, competence, and skill to match the passion you already bring into the therapy room with your clients. Michelle is a Certified EMDR Therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant. She offers individual and group EMDR consultation services for therapists working towards certification or those wanting to refresh and fine-tune their skills. EMDR consultation meetings, offered in person or virtually, are an opportunity to gain clarity and direction with even the most difficult cases. As your comfort and skill level with EMDR improves, you will learn to more intuitively respond and attune to your clients, overcome barriers and blocks, and more efficiently support them on their healing journey. Michelle has also been a featured guest on the Selling the Couch Podcast with Melvin Varghese, PH.D., Session 137 where she shares about the inception of Mindful Soul Center for Wellbeing and her private practice journey.
Michelle lives with her husband, a teacher, and three children locally in southern New Jersey. Her “other” job description includes mac & cheese maven, baseball & softball mom, and kisser of boo-boos. She also enjoys devouring books on Audible, exercise, yoga, and sometimes just a few quiet moments to breathe.
*Please be advised that at this time, Michelle is not accepting new clients as her schedule is currently full. Here at Mindful Soul, our therapists take pride in their work and would not like to spread themselves too thin and want to ensure the best level of care is offered to all clients.
