Clinical Director
EMDR Certified Therapist
Internal Family Systems Trained Therapist, Level 1
Nicole is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Board Certified Counselor providing counseling for women at the Mindful Soul Center for Wellbeing in southern New Jersey. Nicole’s area of focus is helping women work through difficult transitional moments such as divorce, relationship trauma, and affair recovery by getting to the root of the pain that is blocking them from their true authentic self and accessing their inner strength. As part of this process, she helps women understand and manage their emotions instead of being afraid to experience them. Her clients are then able to sort through the life experiences that have impacted them in a negative way.
A firm believer that we all have an inner compass readily available to help us at any moment, Nicole supports women in finding the courage to go inside and embrace their own strength and abilities. Sometimes stress, anxiety, depression, grief, regret, anger and resentment prevent us from seeing that compass clearly. Nicole introduces her clients to new tools and skills to help them tolerate and manage unpleasant emotions so that they can move forward with clarity and confidence.
“Being ourselves means sometimes having to find the courage to stand alone.”
-Brené Brown
Nicole draws upon several evidence-based practices including EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), Dialectical Behavior Therapy and IFS strategies. Nicole is an EMDR certified therapist through EMDRIA (The EMDR International Association). She utilizes this powerful and cutting edge approach to treating trauma with her clients. This evidenced based approach is an effective way to help women heal from adverse childhood experiences, and explore how previous and present trauma or dysfunction is negatively impacting the ability to foster healthy and satisfying relationships.
Described by her clients as a therapist that “gets it,” Nicole is easy to relate to as well as being funny, nonjudgmental, kind, and thoughtful. She has experience working with people and families from all walks of life through a variety of settings such as hospital inpatient units, MICA, partial care/IOP programs, and schools.
Nicole’s passion for working with women going through divorce or having relationship difficulties has led to the creation of her group, Untying the Knot. This group focuses on healing, forgiveness, and moving on to the life that you want. Nicole lives with her husband and two children in southern New Jersey. She also has a stepdaughter and understands the importance of communication, patience, and love when working with blended families. She enjoys spending time with her family – especially at the beach, cooking, yoga, and just being “present” in her own life. Nicole believes that it is the little things in life that make us extraordinary – we just have to make sure that we are showing up in our lives so that we do not miss them.
*Please be advised that at this time, Nicole is not accepting new clients as her schedule is currently full. Here at Mindful Soul, our therapists take pride in their work and would not like to spread themselves too thin and want to ensure the best level of care is offered to all clients.
