For many adults, transitions can be planned or unexpected but are always inevitable. As you pack up your metaphorical suitcase for the next stage of your life, what do you want to take with you? What are you ready to leave behind? And most importantly, who do you want to be?
If you are in the middle of a life transition, Meredith will help you unpack difficult emotions and experiences and repack your bags with confidence, support, and healthy coping skills. For many of us, the natural transitions we experience in life are compounded by trauma, complicated family issues, anxiety, depression, substance use, or other mental health concerns. With the help of an encouraging therapist, you can lighten your load in a way that makes life feel clearer and more manageable.
“There is no normal life that is free of pain. It’s the very wrestling with our problems that can be the impetus for our growth.” – Fred Rogers
Meredith provides an atmosphere of safety and warmth, without shame and judgment. Her compassionate and approachable personality makes it easy for clients to open up. She encourages her clients to turn their attention inward and joins them in setting and reaching their goals. Here is where confidence and courage bloom and confusion and insecurity dissipate.
Meredith is well versed in several counseling techniques, such as Dialectical Behavior Training (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-based practices, and a Client-Centered Approach which she utilizes together with her clients. She also incorporates 12 Step principles wherever she can, as she has seen them work in her own life.
A Virginia native, and a recent New Jersey transplant, Meredith enjoys weekends at the Jersey Shore and all the food Philly has to offer. When Meredith is not working as a therapist, you can find her on her Peloton bike, listening to true crime podcasts, and spending time with her family and beloved Pug, Owen.
