Ashley Ciccarelli is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience in the field. She is a Boston native who completed both her Master of Social Work and Master of Public Health at Boston University. With a diverse background in clinical practice, maternal and child health research, she offers a skilled approach to working with both groups, families, and individuals.
Ashley takes a compassionate approach to working with parents and families who are struggling to navigate life’s transitions. During her sessions, Ashley walks her clients through skill-building practices that can help them successfully cope with life’s stressors. She brings a strengths-based, solution-focused approach to her work with clients to help them achieve their individual goals. She will often utilize play and art-based therapies with children and adolescents and her adult clients would describe her style as warm, supportive and empowering
As a mom to two young children, Ashley understands how overwhelming and beautiful parenthood can be and feels honored to support parents wherever they are along their journey. Trained in CBT, Mindfulness and DBT, Ashley has extensive experience working with parents and children. Her background and experience include 8 years working in New Jersey’s Children’s System of Care overseeing the care of thousands of families.
In addition to counseling services, Ashley is an Advanced Trainer providing workshops in The Nurtured Heart Approach®, a relationship-focused strategy which utilizes The 3 Stands™ to help children build their Inner Wealth® and use their intensity in successful ways. The Nurtured Heart Approach® works for all children and any parent would benefit from learning this positive approach for interactions. It has been shown to be especially effective in parenting children that struggle with emotional or behavioral difficulties such as ADHD, anxiety, or defiant behaviors. This transformative approach can benefit parents, caregivers, and helping professionals who work with children, who are looking for a new way of interacting with the children in their lives
When not practicing, Ashley enjoys time with family and being outdoors as much a s possible (especially since South Jersey isn’t nearly as cold as Boston!).
